After a huge wait, the South Korean electronics giant finally unveiled the Galaxy foldable smartphone and the device is called Galaxy Fold, the company launched the device at San Francisco during the Galaxy Unpacked event. The device has two displays and the company used new Infinity flex display for the Galaxy Fold, it can be folded to turn the phone into a compact device then can easily fit in the pocket. As I mentioned that the device has two displays, the main flexible display sports 7.3 inch Infinity flex dynamic AMOLED display and has 2152 X 1536 pixels resolution and the 4.6 inch display is the secondary and that comes with the super AMOLED display with 1960 X 840 pixels resolution. The device is powered by unnamed processor but it is based on 7nm manufacturing process, it comes with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage and there is no option to expand the storage.
Speaking about camera section, the Galaxy Fold comes with a total of six cameras – three are placed on the back, two on the inside, and one on the front. Talking about the rear cameras: a 16-megapixel ultra wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture, a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera, with Dual Pixel AF, OIS, and variable f/1.5 to f/2.4 aperture; and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with PDAF, OIS, an f/2.4 aperture, and 2X optical zoom. As for the front dual camera, it rocks a 10-megapixel f/2.2 primary sensor and an 8-megapixel RBG depth camera with an f/1.9 aperture. Finally, the cover camera is a 10-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture.
Samsung has packed two batteries in the smartphone and that are placed on two sides. The batteries combine their energy and offer a total capacity of 4,380 mAh. The company hasn’t announced the pricing and availability details of the device but they said that it will be available from April in selected markets.
