Huawei’s Honor Play Launched In India

Huawei’s subsidiary Honor launches their first gaming smartphone – the Honor Play in India. The device was unveiled in June earlier this year and sales will start today on Amazon.

The Honor Play has a  6.3-inch Full-HD+ display with a 2.5D curved glass atop along with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and has 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution. The display also sports a notch. It is powered by 2.36 GHz Octa Core Kirin 970 processor paired with either 4 or 6 GB RAM and a Mali-G72 MP12 GPU. The device has 64GB internal storage and supports Micro SD card.

The Honor Play has dual camera setup at the back with a 16MP (f/2.2 aperture) + 2MP (f/2.4 aperture) with PDAF and LED flash. It has a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture in front. The camera also features AI enhancements like AI Beauty Mode, AR Stickers and AI Portrait Mode borrowed from other Huawei phones.

Being a gaming oriented smartphone, the Honor Play has GPU Turbo and 4D Gaming. GPU Turbo technology boosts the graphics performance of the device by 60% and 4D Gaming will offer the real-time vibrations on the device which depends on the scenes of the game like explosions, just like controllers on the console. The device also offers 3D sound for an enhanced audio experience. The FHD+ Screen and the GPU will add to the really good gaming experience offered by the device.

The device supports dual hybrid SIM, dual 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5 mm headphone jack, USB Type-C, and GPS. The Honor Play is powered by a 3,750 mAh battery coupled with 18W charging.

The Honor Play with 4GB RAM is priced at ₹19,999 and the one with  6GB RAM is priced at ₹23,999. Huawei will start selling the device on Amazon from 4 PM today.
