Xiaomi has unveiled two new semi-premium tablets named Mi Pad 5 and Mi Pad 5 Pro. Both devices come with the same resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and nice build. Let’s check the pricing, availability, and other features of the new tablet.
Design and Display of Mi Pad 5 and Mi Pad 5 Pro
Both Mi Pad 5 and 5 Pro have same slate like design. It looks like premium tabs. The tablet sports an 11-inch 10-bit IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2560×1600 resolution, and up to 500 nits brightness. It features HDR10, Dolby Vision, and TrueTone technology. This TrueTone technology features the color tone and brightness according to the ambient lighting. The aspect ratio is 16:10. The vanilla one is available in Black and White color options. Moreover, the Pro one is available in Black, White and Green color options.
Performance
The Mi Pad 5 packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 chipset with Adreno 640 GPU. The 5 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset with Adreno 650 GPU. The vanilla model packs 6+128GB and 6+256GB storage options, while the Pro also has 8+256GB. The tablets have UFS 3.1 storage type
Camera
Regarding the camera department, the Mi Pad 5 supports a single 13MP camera with f2.0 lens. There’s a 8MP selfie shooter with f2.0 lens. The 5 Pro (Wi-Fi only) features a 13MP sensor and a 5MP depth sensor. It also (Wi-Fi + Cellular) has a bigger 50MP main sensor with the same 5MP depth one. The company has included an 8MP shooter.
Other Specifications
The tablets are based on Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 on top. The vanilla Pad 5 is backed by an 8720mAh battery with 33W fast charging while 5 Pro supports a 8,600mAh battery with faster 67W charging speed.
Both devices come with new Xiaomi Stylus and Magnetic Keyboard. The Stylus supports 240Hz touch sampling rate, has two buttons on sides, and are just 12.2 grams. Users get 8 hours on a single charge. Users can charge it by placing on the Pad’s magnetic connector on its side. The keyboard is available in three color options. Both accessories will be sold separately.
Regarding the connectivity, Mi Pad 5 has Wi-Fi option only. The Pro model supports a Wi-Fi only model as well as Wi-Fi + 5G cellular option. It has 6 bands of sub6 5G bands. Other connectivity options are Bluetooth 5.0 (vanilla), GPS (Pro), Bluetooth 5.2 (Pro), and Type-C port. The vanilla variant supports 4 stereo speakers, whereas the Pro has a total of 8 stereo speakers. The devices have Dolby Atmos support.
Pricing and Availability
Mi Pad 5 costs CNY 1,999 (INR 23,000 approx.). The 6+256GB version is priced at CNY 2,299 (INR 26,400 approx.).
On the other hand, Mi Pad 5 Pro (6+128GB) costs CNY 2,499 (INR 28,700 approx.). The 6+256GB model is priced at CNY 2,799 (INR 32,150 approx). Mi Pad 5 Pro (5G) (8+256GB) comes with the price tag of CNY 3,499 (INR 40,200 approx.). Pre-orders have started in China.
