Since Facebook’s acquisition of Instagram, the developers of the world’s most favorite photo and video sharing hub continuously getting new features. And all of them are handy as well as attractive to engage the users on the application, but after each update the size of the app increases. Which effects on the performance of the app in low-end smartphones. Well, now the Facebook owned Instagram answers to this issue by unveiling the Instagram Lite.
As the name suggests, the all new Instagram Lite is the lighter version of the standard Instagram app. Well, if you are unaware about the lite version of apps, then it’s the optimized applications for the devices which have the low-end specifications. Moreover, the lite version of applications consumes less data.
Coming to the Instagram Lite, the app is spotted on Google Play Store and the company launched the lighter version of Instagram without any announcement or event. The Instagram Lite is just 573 kilobytes in size, which is very much compressed than the standard app.
Furthermore, the Instagram Lite offers all the major features of the standard Instagram app, as the Lite version has the ability to share photos to feed as well as stories, watch stories, add filters, and also to Explore page. Having said that, right now the app is not supporting the feature of sharing videos or the service of Direct Messages. We hope that the developers will bring these features in the future updates.
Speaking about the availability, the new lite app is not available in India. It may be the company is testing the application in selected markets. Let’s hope that the company will roll out the Instagram Lite app very soon.
