Xiaomi is pushing the boundaries of Apple-inspired design. According to recent sources, the brand may soon release a Pro Max flagship model. And it’s likely that the smartphone will arrive before the end of the year. It will most likely have a larger screen, emphasising the Max part of the name.
Xiaomi may utilise this smartphone to demonstrate its alleged photographic relationship with Leica, which is likely to entice buyers. As the company moves up the price spectrum, it must improve its software, and a larger phone will require a larger battery to maintain the form factor and performance.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro Max should ideally sit atop Xiaomi’s current flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 12 Pro. Xiaomi could employ the future Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ chipset for this handset, based on the schedule given in the leak. It could use the same 50-megapixel triple rear camera module as the Galaxy S8, or it could be tweaked to include a larger sensor. The Xiaomi 12 Pro Max could be the company’s first smartphone to feature the 200W fast charging capabilities that it has previously demonstrated.
When all of these factors are considered, the Xiaomi 12 Pro Max smartphone may show to be a formidable competitor to the likes of Samsung, Google, and even Apple. And, knowing Xiaomi, its Pro Max smartphone could be significantly less expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Ultra or Apple iPhone Pro Max variants now on the market.
We’re looking forward to hearing more about this Xiaomi flagship smartphone and seeing if it truly launches this year.
Because if it does, Xiaomi will almost certainly have to contend with OnePlus, which is rumoured to be working on its first-ever Ultra version as part of the OnePlus 10 series.
In any case, more premium smartphones on the market would be beneficial, as it would increase competition.
