At the Oppo Stage last year, the world’s first rollable Oppo X2121 was presented. Samsung, however, presented a new rollable display design for smartphones termed “slideables” at the DSCC 2022 Business Conference yesterday.
Mr Young provided many screenshots of Samsung’s showcase of the new slideable display at the conference in his recent tweets, and the news came from Rose Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC).
Another benefit is that you now have a 6.7-inch screen in your pocket, which is thinner than if you hadn’t employed any of the folding or sliding techniques.
The slideable technology on show appears to be ready for mass production, based on Mr. Young’s screen shots. Samsung may launch a new Samsung Galaxy Z slide series if it wishes to broaden its non-traditional smartphone range further.
