Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone giant, has announced the latest device Redmi Note 8 2021 in the market. It is celebrating the  selling of 25 million + units of the original variant which was introduced in 2019. The latest version of the Android Operating System, MediaTek processor, and a 48-megapixel primary camera are some of the main features of the smartphone. Features of Redmi Note 8 2021

Redmi Note 8 2021 supports a 6.3-inch Full HD+ LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and waterdrop notch. The resolution of the smartphone is 2340 x 1080 pixels. It houses the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset and a Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU. Moreover, the 4GB LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB/128GB off internal storage are the other main features. The internal storage is expandable upto 256 GB using a microSD card.

It is based on the Android 11 operating system out-of-the-box with the MIUI 12.5. It also has the support of a 4,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging.

Regarding the camera, the handset supports a quad-camera setup. It consists of a 48-megapixel Samsung GM1 sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. The camera setup also contains a 2-megapixel macro lens, as well as a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Besides, there is a 13-megapixel front camera. 

Speaking about the connectivity options, the handset packs Dual 4G VoLTE, GPS + GLONASS, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.2, and USB Type-C port. The company has included a fingerprint sensor and IR sensor.

Pricing and availability

The company doesn’t disclose the details of the smartphone. But, it is listed on Mi.com global site. The availability of the handset is expected soon in the European and Russian markets.
