Qualcomm, with the collaboration of Asus, has debuted the first handset Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders. It was announced last March. The company offers Qualcomm Signal Boost and Smart Transmit technologies, third-generation Snapdragon X60 5G modem, Spectra 580 image signal processor, Snapdragon Sound, and an artificial intelligence-backed AI Auto Zoom feature. Features of Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders

The device sports a .6.78-inch full-HD+ Samsung AMOLED display with, 20.4:9 aspect ratio, 2448 X 1080 pixels resolution, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. Moreover, the peak brightness is up to 1,200 nits. The display comes with HDR10 and HDR10+ along with 111.23 percent of DCI-P3. The NTSC colour gamut is 106.87 percent. The device has no cut-out on the top of the screen. Besides, the selfie camera and other sensors are placed at the top bezel.

The Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC along with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The Qualcomm smartphone includes a big 512 GB of internal storage. The base of the operating system is Android 11 out-of-the-box.

The gadget packs a triple rear camera setup. It is the combination of a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens, and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 sensor with an f/2.2 ultra-wide lens. There is an 8-megapixel telephoto shooter as well.  The primary and telephoto cameras also support optical image stabilization (OIS). It consists of a 24-megapixel selfie camera.

The smartphone has dual stereo speakers and the same paired with a smart AMP and Snapdragon Sound. The gadget houses quad HDR microphones with 114dB dynamic range.

Coming to the connectivity options, the handset packs 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.2 with aptX Adaptive support, Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi Direct, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS/ NavIC, and a USB Type-C port. The device supports a fingerprint sensor with a Qualcomm 3D Sonic Sensor Gen 2 as well as there is an Illuminated Snapdragon fireball icon on the back. 

It houses a 4,000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 5.0 charging support. Besides, the smartphone features bundled MW08SI TWS earbuds, and the same has 24-bit, 96kHz audio along with ultra-low latency. The earbuds come with the Qualcomm QCC5141. The device has Qualcomm Active Noise Cancellation and cVc echo cancellation and noise suppression technologies.

Pricing and availability

The smartphone costs $1,499. The sale will start via Asus online and offline retail channels in August. It is available in some counries like China, Germany, Japan, Korea, US, UK, and India.
