The Honor 9N is in the headlines from a couple of days, the company announced the arrival of the device in India in last week and promised to launch on July 24. Well, today the Huawei’s subsidiary Honor has launched the Honor 9N in the country at an event in New Delhi. Before we proceed, let me say something. The device is actually the re-branded Honor 9i (2018), which was unveiled in China last week. So, let’s dive into the article, and check out the specification, pricing, and availability of the device in the Indian market.
Design of Honor 9N
The device looks very stylish and it has 2.5D curved glass at back, and the company says that the smartphone has used 12 layers of nano-glass coating to get the mirror-like effect.
Specification of Honor 9N
The Honor 9N sports a 5.84 inch FHD+ display along with 19:9 aspect ratio and a 2.5D curved glass atop. It has a notch on the top of the display, and it also has 2280 x 1080 pixels resolution. The device is powered by 2.36 GHz octa-core Kirin 659 processor and paired with 3 GB and 4 GB RAM, along with Mali-T830 MP2 GPU for the graphical task. That said, the device also has the GPU Turbo technology, which was introduced with the Honor Play for the first time. The GPU Turbo improves the graphics performance as well as reduces the power consumption. However, GPU Turbo technology will not available at this moment, but it will be rolled out later via a software update.
Coming to the storage, the device comes with three variants; the 3 GB RAM with 32 GB of storage, the 4 GB RAM with 64 GB of internal storage, and the 4 GB RAM with 128 GB of internal storage. Well, if the storage is not enough for you, then you expand the storage upto 256 GB via microSD card.
Moving to the camera department, the Honor 9N has a dual camera setup at the back which is in the combination of 13 megapixel + 2 megapixel with f/2.2 aperture, 5P Lens, PDAF, Portrait Mode, AR Lens, and LED flash, along with 16 megapixel front facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, Portrait Mode, AR Lens, 3D Facial Detection, 4-in-1 Light Fusion Technology and Screen Flash. The device also offers the fingerprint scanner and face unlock to give an additional layer of security. Furthermore, the device also comes with features called ‘Game Suite’, Ride Mode, and Paytm Quick Payments.
Speaking about the ‘Game Suite’, it will not allow the user to get disturbed while gaming. The Ride Mode will help the riders to move on without any distractions from the smartphone. Finally, Paytm Quick Payments, this feature allows users to make payments quickly straight from the lock screen.
In terms of connectivity, the Honor 9N supports 4G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3.5 mm headphone jack, micro USB, and GPS. The smartphone runs on Android Oreo 8.0 which is based on the EMUI 8.0, and the whole device is backed on 3,000 mAh battery to add the fuel. Talking about the colour choices, the device will be available in Midnight Black, Sapphire Blue, Lavender Purple, Robin Egg Blue.
Pricing and availability of Honor 9N
The 32 GB storage variant of the device is priced at ₹11,999, the 64 GB storage variant has the price tag of ₹13,999, and the huge 128 GB storage variant is coming with the price tag of ₹17,999. The device will be available through Flipkart from 12 PM onwards on July 31.
