HMD Global, the official licensee of the Nokia continuously launching new smartphones. Well, today the company has launched another smartphone in the X series and the device is called Nokia X5. That said, this is the second smartphone in the X series after the launch of the Nokia X6, and that was the first device of the company with the notch.
The new Nokia X5 was in the news from some time and it was expected to launch on July 11, but the company delayed the arrival and launched today. So, now let’s check out the specification, pricing, and availability details of the newly unveiled smartphone.
Design of the Nokia X5
The device is covered with 2.5D glass on both front and back, and the sides of the device are made with the polycarbonate. That said, the device is much similar to the Nokia X6 but the notch on the Nokia X5 is wider than the Nokia X6 and the new device is missing the metal rim around the dual camera module and the fingerprint scanner which was present on the Nokia X6.
Specification of the Nokia X5
It sports a 5.86 inch HD+ 2.5D curved glass display along with 19:9 aspect ratio and has 1520 x 720 pixels resolution. The Nokia X5 is powered by 2.0 GHz Octa Core Helio P60 processor and paired with 3 and 4 GB RAM, along with Mali-G72 MP3 GPU for the graphical task. In terms of storage, the 4 GB RAM variant has 32 GB of internal storage and the 4 GB RAM variant has 64 GB of internal storage. Well, if that’s not enough for you, then you can expand the storage upto 256 GB via microSD card.
Moving to the photography department, the Nokia X5 has dual camera setup at the back with the combination of 13 megapixel (f/2.0 aperture, PDAF) + 5 megapixel with Portrait Mode and LED flash, along with an 8 megapixel front camera with 80.4-degree wide-angle lens, f/2.2 aperture, and Portrait Mode. That said, the cameras of the device also have the artificial intelligence abilities. Moreover, the device also supports the fingerprint scanner as an additional security layer.
Regarding the connectivity, the device supports Dual 4G Dual VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, FM, 3.5 mm headphone jack, USB Type-C 2.0, and GPS. The Nokia X5 runs on the latest Android Oreo 8.1, and the company promises to give the next major Android update i.e. Android P. Finally, the smartphone is packed on 3,060 mAh battery to keep the lights on.
Pricing and availability of Nokia X5
The 3 GB RAM variant has the price tag of ¥999 (approx. ₹10,195), and the 4 GB RAM variant is coming with the price tag of ¥1399 (approx. ₹14,275). The Nokia X5 will be available for pre-order in China from July 19 via Suning.com, and there’s no information about the availability of the device in other parts of the world.
