Along with the new Dimensity 1050, MediaTek also announced the Dimensity 930 and Helio G99 SoC. These two chipsets provide high power efficiency and are created using TSMC’s N6 (6nm class) chip fabrication process. So, without further ado, let’s dive right into the article and acquire everything there is to know about the new chipsets.
930 5G Specifications
The MediaTek Dimensity 930 mobile CPU has an octa-core design with 2x ARM Cortex-A78 performance cores clocked at 2.2GHz and 6x Arm Cortex-A55 performance cores clocked at 2GHz.
The specifications reveal that the new chipset has the same setup as the Dimensity 920, which was released last year, but the Cortex-A78 cores are clocked faster at 2.5GHz, implying that the new Dimensity 930 mobile CPU will have downclocked performance, which would improve battery life.
The company has also introduced the new Dimensity 930 mobile processor, which features high-end UFS 3.1 storage and fast LPDDR5 memory. The latest MediaTek Dimensity 930 chipset has True Dual 5G SIM (5G SA + 5G SA), dual SIM, WiFi 5, and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity choices. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth standards are inadequate.
Helio G99 Specifications
The new MediaTek Helio G99 supports 4G and boasts a 30% increase in power efficiency and battery life. The MediaTek Helio G99 mobile CPU features an octa-core architecture with 2x ARM Cortex-A76 performance cores capable of 2.2GHz and 6x ARM Cortex-A55 cores capable of 2.0GHz.
The ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU on the latest MediaTek Helio G99 chipset does not enable 5G connectivity. LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 storage are supported by the chipset. It has dual SIM compatibility, WiFi 5, and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity options. The processor can handle FHD+ and 120Hz displays.
The Dimensity 930 mobile processor is slated to arrive in the heart of smartphones in the second quarter of this year, while the latest Helio G99 SoC is expected to arrive in the third quarter.
