New features of Android 12
Android 12 comes with a personalized all-new interface with a custom color palette. The developer also included new widgets that can be resized with much greater flexibility. Users can add a new theme based on the colors from each wallpaper. Google has added color extraction that enables us to apply any colors across the entire interface. The new custom color theme will be exclusive to Pixel devices. The color of the notification shade, the lock screen, volume controls, and widgets will be changed according to the theme.
The interface of the latest variant is more dynamic and responsive. The redesigned widgets help the company to provide interactive controls like switches, checkboxes, and even radio buttons to their widgets. The biggest change is the dramatic appearance of the user interface. The UI redesign is a part of the “Material You” concept, which brings a unified experience across all Google apps and services over time.
Instead of existing glow overscroll, there is a system-wide “stretch” overscroll effect. It will appear once they have scrolled past the end of the available content. It also comes with smoother audio transitions.
Android 12 has added redesigned system spaces, like the notification shade, quick settings, and the power button. The notification tray is at the top of the panel. The Quick Settings icons, larger and more colorful, gives additional controls to adjust system settings to a large extent. Google has tried to make a sense of freshness to the user interface. It also backed the controls for Google Pay and Home Controls. Google Assistant is similar to Siri in iOS, both work with long presses of the power button.
The new operating system supports faster and a more responsive experience. The developers minimize the CPU time for core system services by up to 22 percent. Moreover, Google has tried to cut the use of big cores by the system server by up to 15 percent.
There is a new indicator on the top-right corner of the screen. It appears when any of the installed apps is accessing the microphone or camera of your smartphone. Two new toggles in the quick settings panel help remove app access to the microphone and camera.
Moreover, Google also introduces new approximate location permission. There is an option to select whether to share our correct location or an approximate one. Besides, an app hibernation essentially hibernates apps that are not being used for an extended period. This improves user safety as well as optimize device storage and performance.
Google put forward a new privacy setting that gives the user more control and more transparency. We can control the information gathered by the apps. We can cancel permissions given to apps directly from the dashboard.
Another main feature in the Android 12 operating system is Android Private Compute Core as a built-in sandbox that helps the user to keep data private and store locally. It will work on Live Caption, Now Playing, and Smart Reply
