New Tesla Roadster Unveiled

Elon Musk backed Tesla has officially introduced its redesigned Tesla Roadster and it uses SpaceX cold-gas thrusters. This will make the car fly and land safely. It is worth mentioning that the company showcased the concept of a Roadster flying car in 2017, and now the company has demonstrated a redesigned Roadster that drove upside down on a specially designed ramp.

Everything about Redesigned Tesla Roadster

The latest Tesla Roadster is actually inspired by the SR-71 & F-35 and the vehicle features active aerodynamics, a multi-mode suction system and SpaceX’s cold-gas thrusters.

Talking about the exterior, the vehicle features concealed headlights along with a full-length taillight & flush-mounted surfaces for a minimalist, highly technical form and Super-light wheels with thin spokes reinforce structural strength when earthbound. We can also see the Ano white paint that brings an aerospace-derived finish with UV & cryogenic protection, electrostatic dissipation & corrosion resistance. It also features the Gold Glazed tinted glass mimics the copper coating of spacesuit visors, with subtle titanium accents.

Coming inside, the vehicle has ultrawhite interiors with grey microsuede detailing and seat bolsters for added grip. The company offers manual controls and a fixed seat position that reduce overall vehicle mass, while lightweight, high-strength materials throughout, including magnesium, titanium and carbon fiber help reduce it further. The company also offers a centre touchscreen supported by two smaller forward displays that will be offering important driving info.

It also comes with Tesla’s multi-mode fan and ground sealing system act as a downforce generator that will be pulling air out from beneath the vehicle. It also features enough suction to hold the vehicle upside down, even when stationary. The company is offering powered fans and active wings that maximise traction and cornering speeds in any type of conditions and it will offer a massive downforce at zero speed. It is also revealed that the drivers can be able to activate track mode to lower the car and transform the suspension. It also comes with high downforce or low drag modes that can be used as needed on the track.

Tesla has used SpaceX’s advanced cold-gas thrusters and the same will be using all-electric actuators that will be offering precise thrust, completing micro-adjustments within a fraction of a second. The company has said that the vehicle can reach 0- 60 mph in 0.81 seconds (0.67 seconds with rollout subtracted).

You will be getting three configurations of this flying car including Performance (open for reservation) and it is road-ready with seating for 2. It also comes with active aerodynamics and a multi-mode suction system that maximises downforce for next-level performance on and off the track.

While the Thrust (limited release) and it is race-ready with seating capacity of 2. It comes with a multi-mode suction system along with cold-gas thrusters in the rear of the vehicle that propel Roadster from 0-60 in under 1 second.

Finally, Rocket (can be purchased with invite only) and it is air-ready with seating for 1. The model comes with a multi-mode suction system along with cold-gas thrusters positioned around the perimeter. It also supports forward and upward acceleration as well as lateral rotational movement. It is worth mentioning that this particular variant is not approved for public road use.

The company is expected to start the production of the vehicle in 2028. And it is worth mentioning that the new Tesla Roadster reservations are now open in India. Interested customers can grab the latest Thrust model and the same costs Rs 2,50,25,000, while the Performance model costs Rs 50,06,000.
