Dubbed a “large folding camera” phone by sources, the Mate X8 is tipped to command a premium price point of approximately 10,000 yuan. Its innovative display configuration reportedly includes a 6.5-inch cover display for quick interactions and an expansive 8.15-inch inner screen for immersive viewing, both engineered with ultra-thin glass for enhanced durability and a premium tactile experience.
Photography enthusiasts will note the rumored advanced camera system, featuring a 50MP main lens equipped with a substantial 1/1.28-inch SC595 sensor. This primary shooter is expected to boast a variable aperture for versatile lighting conditions and an RYYB color filter, promising superior light capture and image quality. Complementing this is a powerful 50MP periscope telephoto camera, indicating a strong focus on high-fidelity zoom capabilities.
Power users will appreciate the reported battery capacity, with engineering samples suggesting a unit larger than 6,000mAh. This substantial power source aims to ensure extended usage, a critical factor for a device with dual high-resolution displays and advanced processing.
